About Me
I'm Tristan Jessup — an AI researcher, independent developer, and the founder of Mindlink Research Group LLC.
My path to AI research wasn't linear. I started in IT support, working at Best Buy and Geek Squad, where I built a deep understanding of how people interact with technology — the gaps between what systems do and what humans actually need. That experience shaped my conviction that the future of AI isn't about building smarter machines; it's about building machines that make us smarter together.
While pursuing my B.S. in Information Technology with an AI concentration at Strayer University, I began independent research into multi-agent systems, swarm intelligence, and alignment theory. The questions that drive my work aren't purely technical — they sit at the intersection of computer science, philosophy, and ethics.
Today, I build frameworks and tools that explore the frontiers of human-AI coexistence. AGI-SAC models alignment as emergent coherence in swarm systems. The Concord of Coexistence proposes principles for mutual flourishing between human and artificial intelligence. These aren't just academic exercises — they're attempts to build the conceptual infrastructure for a future where AI is a genuine partner, not a tool or a threat.
Research Philosophy
Alignment is Emergent
You can't bolt alignment onto a system after the fact. It has to emerge from the system's architecture, incentives, and interactions. My work focuses on creating conditions for alignment rather than imposing constraints.
Resilience Over Control
Brittle systems fail catastrophically. I study how multi-agent systems can maintain coherence under entropy — how alignment can survive chaos without requiring totalizing control.
Build to Understand
Theory without implementation is speculation. Every framework I propose gets built into a simulation, tool, or prototype. If it can't run, it's not finished.
Open by Default
AI safety research benefits from transparency. My work is open source, my reasoning is public, and my frameworks are designed to be challenged and improved by the community.
